Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Competition (GAC) said it received 137 economic concentration requests in 2020.
At the sector level, 49 of these requests were granted a no-objection certificate in the last year, according to a statement on Wednesday.
This includes 17 no-objection certificates in the transformative industry sector, six in the information and communications sector, five in the financial activities and insurance services sector, in addition to three letters for each of the electricity, gas, and air conditioning, administrative and support services, as well as transport and storage groups, among others.
GAC is a government body responsible for protecting and promoting fair competition and combating anti-competitive and monopolistic practices.
