Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's consumer price index (CPI) rose for the eleventh successive month in November 2020 by 5.8% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.
The rise of the CPI was driven by higher prices of food and beverages by 13% and transport by 8%, coupled with the effect of the increase in the value-added tax (VAT) from 5% to 15% last July, as shown by data from the General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).
On a monthly basis, the kingdom’s inflation rate remained unchanged.
