Saudi Arabia unveils locally-made smart chips

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has manufactured its first locally-made smart chips, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Alswaha, announced during the Launch event.

Alswaha noted that the Kingdom will launch different programmes focusing on digital economy, space, and innovation.

He noted that digital economy represents 25% of the world’s economy at $23 trillion. Meanwhile, the economy focusing on space industry would account for more than $1 trillion by 2040.

Saudi Arabia has developed a strategy to become one of the best 15 countries in the field of data across the globe.

It is worth noting that the Kingdom has jointly with China launched a fund of SAR 1.5 billion in capital to support emerging technology companies in Saudi Arabia.

World's leading technology companies such as Google, Amazon, IBM, Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft, Trend Micro, and Avance Security announced their cooperation with Saudi Arabia in launching its training programmes.
