Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's energy ministry is teaming up with the state-owned Public Investment Fund (PIF) to Saudise renewable energy techniques, the energy minister said on the sidelines of the 2019 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
This cooperation aims to meet domestic demand for clean energy and to export the surplus abroad, Khalid al-Falih added on the ministry’s Twitter account.
The official further noted that the Saudi electricity sector will diversify its generation sources over the coming period, instead of relying on oil and gas.
The GCC nation will also carry out 12 renewable energy projects this year.
On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia revealed plans to establish a cutting-edge energy hub over the coming period.
