Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s imports of arms, ammunition, and weapon accessories rose 8% or SAR 830 million year-on-year in the first ten months of 2018, the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported.
The oil-rich kingdom imported weapons at a value of SAR 11.16 billion from January to October 2018, compared to SAR 10.33 billion in the corresponding period during 2017, the GASTAT Added.
Most of Saudi weapon imports were during the third quarter of 2018 at a value of SAR 3.84 billion.
On the other hand, the GCC nation’s merchandise exports of weapons and ammunition reached 120.3 million in the first ten months of 2018, down from SAR 177.1 million in the prior-year period.
