Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose by 20.25% year-on-year (YoY) to $5.49 billion (SAR 20.57 billion) from $4.56 billion (SAR 17.11 billion) in 2019.
During the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020, Saudi Arabia's net FDI inflows jumped by 79.8% to $1.87 billion (SAR 7.01 billion), compared to $1.04 billion (SAR 3.9 billion) in the year-ago period, according to data collected by Mubasher based on official figures.
On a quarterly basis, Saudi Arabia recorded a 71.56% increase in the net FDI inflows, compared to $1.09 billion (SAR 4.09 billion) in the earlier quarter.
Meanwhile, the cumulative net foreign direct investments into Saudi Arabia reached SAR 906.98 billion ($241.86 billion) by the end of Q4-20 from SAR 886.41 billion ($236.38 billion) during the same period of the earlier year.
In addition, the total foreign investments in Saudi Arabia rose by about 9.5% to SAR 2.006 trillion ($535.02 billion) by the end of 2020 from SAR 1.833 trillion ($488.82 billion) by the end of 2019.
