Cairo - Mubasher: Allianz Egypt announced the appointment of Sahar Nasr as a Board Member at Allianz Life Assurance Company-Egypt, according to a recent statement.
This decision is in line with Allianz Egypt’s commitment to the Financial Regulatory Authority’s (FRA) directions to include female calibres and promote women's role in leadership positions.
Nasr said that she aims to support "Allianz Egypt’s ventures to expand and reach more people while actualising the state’s strategy towards financial inclusion.”
"Sahar’s witnessed local, regional, and international experience in the financial and economic sector will enrich our performance and strategy in the upcoming years, complementing the company’s vision, mission and goals.” the Chairman and CEO of Allianz Companies in Egypt, Ayman Hegazy, commented.
Women representation at the insurance firm increased to 50.47% from 44.73% in 2018, while the percentage of females occupying leadership positions rose to 33.58% in its core business, compared to 26.63% in 2018, Hegazy added.
Nasr served as Governor of Egypt to several institutions such as the World Bank (WB), along with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She was also the Former Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and the Acting Minister of Public Enterprises.
