Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) has completed procedures to import 660,000 tonnes of feed barley to be supplied during April and May 2021.
The transaction represents SAGO’s second tender for the year 2021, according to a statement on Monday.
A total of 25 qualified global companies specialised in grains trade were invited to the tender; 16 of them competed to supply the amount to be imported and 6 global companies with the lowest rates of shipments were selected.
The shipments were distributed to 8 shipments for the kingdom’s ports on the Red Sea with the amount of 480,000 tonnes and 3 shipments for the ports on the Arabian Gulf with the amount of 180,000 tonnes.
By completing the procedures for this tender, SAGO has contracted to import 1.320 million tonnes of barley.
