Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances from Egyptians abroad increased by $1.124 billion, or 4.52%, year-on-year during the first nine months of 2019.
Money transfers from expatriate Egyptians amounted to $20.254 billion during the January-September period, compared to $19.378 billion in the prior-year period.
During the first quarter of fiscal year 2019/2020, remittances of expats grew by 13.6%, or $803.6 million, to $6.7 billion from $5.9 billion in Q1 of FY18/19, data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.
