Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Thursday said remittances from Egyptian expatriates increased by $1.6 billion or 8% year-on-year in the first 10 months of 2018.
Total remittances reached $21.7 billion in the period from January to October, versus $19.8 billion in the year-ago period, the CBE highlighted in a statement.
Additionally, remittances amounted to $2.1 billion in October, a 17% increase from $1.8 billion in the same month of 2017, the CBE's data indicated.
The CBE previously announced that remittances from expatriate Egyptians rose to $5.9 billion in the period from July to September this year, compared to $5.8 billion in the same quarter last year.
