Red Sea Mall offers free electric vehicle charging in a first

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Mall will offer free electric charging for its customers, thanks to the four EVlink electric vehicle charging stations which have been installed at the mall by Schneider Electric.

The charging stations will be fully operational and running by the end of December 2020, according to a press release on Thursday.

The GCC country has launched a number of initiatives to support a transition to a greener and more diversified economy as part of the Vision 2030 strategy. Schneider Electric is one of the country’s leading electric vehicle charger suppliers, with forty-four charging stations located nationwide.

“Electric vehicles are the future of transportation, and we wanted to be the first mall in the kingdom to offer free electric vehicle charging,” said Red Sea Mall General Manager Engineer, Al Rayan Gadouri.

Each EVlink electric vehicle charger is designed to be as simple to use and operate as possible and can deliver a full charge to any electric vehicle on the road today, the statement said.

“It’s wonderful to see companies such as the Red Sea Mall being forward-thinking and installing electric charging stations that can be used at no cost by visitors. This is the first installation in a mall in the country today, but it won’t be the last,” said H&D Marketing Division Manager, Schneider Electric Saudi Arabia, Mowafak AlSaadi.
