Real estate, banks stocks push QSE up at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) benchmark index closed Sunday in the green zone after increasing 0.08% or 6.2 points to reach 8,134.46 points.

The real estate sector went up 2.4% after Ezdan Holding Group’s stock rose 4.24%, and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development’s stock inched up 0.61%.

The banks edged up 0.12% as the stocks of Doha Bank and Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled up 1.72%, and 0.15%, respectively.

On the flipside, the industrials sector shed 0.16% after Gulf International Services’ stock fell 4%.

QSE’s liquidity increased 12.6% to reach QAR 169.55 million on Sunday, against QAR 150.57 million on Thursday, while trading volume soared 148.3% to 9.31 million shares, from 3.75 million shares.

QNB’s stock topped the bourse in terms of trading volume with a turnover of QAR 39.34 million, while Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock, which closed Sunday down 3.3%, led in terms of traded volume after 3.29 million shares were exchanged.
