Qatari stock market opens in red

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) dropped 0.91% or 89.87 points to the level of 9,783.26 points in Wednesday’s early trading.

Market’s analyst Ahmed Aql expected QSE to witness profit takings in early trading, saying that the market needs strong liquidity to maintain its upward trend and break above the resistance level of 9,950 points.

Trading volume reached 2.08 million shares exchanged at QAR 58.6 million through 1,125 transactions.

Six index components opened in the red zone, topped by the industrial and transportation sectors as they fell 2.06% and 1.49% respectively, while the consumer goods and services increased alone by 0.14%.

Qatari Investors Group topped risers by adding 9.92%, whereas Al Meera dipped 0.82%.

The benchmark index rose yesterday 0.16% or 15.93 points to the level of 9,873.13 points.
