Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed on a positive note, backed by the real estate sector.
The benchmark index rose 0.48% to the level of 10,418.23 points, Al Rayan Islamic Index advanced 0.42% to 3,890.56 points, and the All Share Index grew 0.53% to 2,814.91 points.
Trading volume decreased 47.94% to 12.13 million shares from 23.3 million shares exchanged on Monday. Turnover also fell 30.16% to QAR 455.93 million ($125.19 million) from QAR 652.83 million ($179.26 million).
The insurance was the best performing sector as it leapt 3.79%, followed by real estate (+1.06%), consumer goods and services (+0.87%), while the in industrial and transportation declined 0.41% and 0.16% respectively.
Islamic Holding topped gainers after rising 5.42%, whereas Doha Bank was the worst performer after slipping 6.1%.
Gulf International was the most active with a trading volume 2.21 million shares exchanged at QAR 85.5 million ($23.47 million).
The benchmark index rose yesterday by 2.29% or 232.08 points to 10,368.65 points.
