Mubasher: Qatar’s domestic liquidity rose 10.2% year-on-year for the second quarter of 2018, according to the Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) data released on Wednesday.
Total cash amounted to QAR 586.15 billion ($161 billion) in Q2-18, compared to QAR 531.9 billion ($146 billion) in Q2-17.
It is worth noting that money supply (M2) includes accounts, time deposit, and saving accounts.
Quarter-on-quarter, Qatar’s M2 levelled up 2.6% in the three-month period ended June, compared to QAR 518.2 billion in Q1-18, the central bank's data showed.
The volume of currency issued grew 11.8% to QAR 19.6 billion in June, from QAR 17.5 billion of the same period of the prior year.
Moreover, total banknotes amounted to QAR 19.5 billion, while total coins recorded QAR 47 million.
