Doha – Mubasher: The rise scored by the Qatar Stock Exchange’s main index on Sunday, after wave of declines including Monday’s setback, proves that the downtrend was temporary and unjustified when compared the bourse’s solid fundamentals, according to an analyst.

The Qatari benchmark index closed Sunday with a rise of 0.20% or about 20.68 points, reaching the level of 10,499.96 points.

“Yesterday’s performance proves that the market recovered, and its return was expected,” Ayoub Eshban, financial analyst and economic advisor, told Mubasher.

The Qatari market enjoys several catalysts, spearheaded by recent inclusion in MSCI Emerging Markets and diversified investments as well as prospected distribution of high-yielding dividends, which are adequate to push up the market further in the upcoming period,” he explained.
