Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index rose this week 1.99% to the level of 10,427.91 points, compared to 10,224.13 points last week.
Trading volume declined 43.09% to 31.29 million shares from 54.99 million shares exchanged last week, while turnover decreased 31.99% to QAR 1.11 billion from QAR 1.63 billion.
The banks sector led the market in terms of turnover by 54.08%, followed by the industry and real estate by 14.83% and 12.8%, respectively.
Qatar Cinema led best performing stocks and advanced 9.2%, while Qatar Electricity and Water Co (QEWC) topped losers and decreased 4.3%.
Masraf Al Rayan led trading this week by 20.45% of total trading value, followed by Qatar National Bank and Industries Qatar by 19.6% and 5.4%, respectively.
The market capitalisation rose 2.01% this week to QAR 562.086 billion ($154.224 billion), compared to QAR 551.01 billion ($151.18 billion) a week ago.
