Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index ended Tuesday’s session falling 1.17% to the level of 10,713.23 points; its lowest level in a month.
The index remained under the pressure of the negative performance of some blue chips as Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ), Industries Qatar and Doha Bank declined by 2.7%, 1.9% and 0.13% respectively.
Trading volume increased 43.6% to 8 million shares from 5.57 million shares exchanged on Monday. Turnover also rose 40% to QAR 348.3 million from QAR 248.66 million.
The market’s sectors fell collectively, topped by the banking sector, which dropped 1.74% as Qatar Oman Investment retreated 2.8%, Dlala Holding shrank 2.7% and QIB fell 1%.
The telecom sector declined 1.73% due to the decrease in Vodafone Qatar by 4.3%. The real estate sector slid 0.97%.
