Qatar to hike oil output to 6.5m bpd by 2026

Mubasher: Qatar is expected to increase its oil output to 6.5 million barrel per day (bpd) from 4.8 million bpd within the coming eight years, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum (QP), said.

“Qatar has lived up to its global reputation as a reliable and trustworthy energy producer at all times and under all circumstances,” Al-Kaabi added.

Last week, QP announced that it has signed a five-year sales agreement with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation, the largest Petrochemical Feedstock trading entity and aggregator in Asia.

Under the agreement, the Qatari state-run firm will supply the Japanese company with 1.2 million metric tonnes of Naphtha annually starting from October, according to the QP’s statement on its website.
