Qatar’s non-oil exports hike 71% in April

Mubasher: Qatar’s non-oil exports surged 71% year-on-year in April 2018, according to Qatar Chamber’s monthly report.

Qatar’s exports amounted to QAR 2.27 billion in April, compared to QAR 1.33 billion in the same period last year.

Month-on-month, Qatari non-oil exports increased 68% in the fourth month of 2018, versus QAR 1.35 billion in March.

Qatari exports were destined for around 59 countries in April, up from 56 in the earlier month, including 11 Arab countries along with the GCC states, 14 European countries including Turkey, 16 Asian countries excluding Arab nations,15 African countries, and two countries in North America and Australia, according to the report.

Netherland topped the list of Qatar’s overall non-oil exports with an amount of QAR 631.6 million, followed by Oman and Hong Kong with QAR 452.2 million and QAR 251.8 million, respectively.
