Qatar’s bank credit grow 3% in August – QCB

Mubasher: Bank lending in Qatar witnessed a 2.86% year-on-year increase in August, Qatar Central Bank (QCB) said.

Loans increased to QAR 925.79 billion ($256.08 billion) last month, compared to QAR 900.02 billion ($248.95 billion) in August 2017.

On a monthly basis, loans levelled up 0.41% from QAR 922.01 billion in July.

The private sector's credit facilities rose 0.31% to QAR 568.63 billion in August from QAR 566.85 billion a month earlier.

By the end of last month, the public sectors’ loans grew 0.58% month-on-month to QAR 340.55 billion.

Meanwhile, bank credit to non-banking financial institutions operating in the world’s biggest LNG exporter inched up 0.24% to QAR 16.62 billion in August versus QAR 16.58 billion in July.
