Doha – Mubasher: Doha is ready to approve mediation efforts to mitigate the breaking of diplomatic relations in the region, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing Qatar’s minister of foreign affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani as saying.
Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani postponed his speech after his Kuwaiti counterpart Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah, whom he spoke to by phone, asked to take part in the talks with countries in the region, the Emir told the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE announced severing relations with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism and Iran.
Kuwait was one of few to maintain its relations with Qatar.
