Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) jumped 2.26% or 209.2 points to 9,481.3 points on Sunday, the highest level since five sessions.
Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 2.47% to 2,519.7 and the All Share Index similarly rose 3.33% to 3,371.8 points.
Trading volume dipped 5.8% to 11.37 million shares, versus 12.8 million shares exchanged on Thursday. Turnover declined 20.2% to QAR 316.16 million from QAR 396.85 million.
The index’s main constituents closed up collectively, topped by the consumer goods and services sector which gained 6%, then real estate (+5.7%), transportation (+3.12%), industrial (+2.6%), telecom (+1.2%), banking (+1%) and insurance (+0.64%).
Medicare Group was today’s best performer after adding 9.9%, while Dlala Holding was the worst after dropping 1.15%.
Gulf International had the highest value as it generated QAR 53 million while Ezdan was the largest-traded stock after 1.53 million shares changed hands.
The benchmark index closed Thursday in green, making the second rise in a row.
