QSE starts Monday down

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Monday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by the fall of three sectors.

By 09:55 am Qatar time, the general index inched down 0.16% to 9,808.40 points, losing 15.80 points.

The bourse’s turnover amounted to QAR 22.3 million after 1.9 million shares were traded through 650 transactions.

The goods and services sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.48% as Widam Food Company and Qatar Fuel (Woqod) retreated 1.35% and 0.86%, respectively.

Similarly, the banking sector decreased by 0.37% as Islamic Holding Group and Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled down 3.10% and 0.73%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector headed the bourse’s gainers adding 0.98% on the back of Mazaya Qatar Real Estate’s 9.95% jump, while the industrial sector inched up 0.06% due to Industries Qatar’s 0.93% increase.

Mazaya Qatar Real Estate’s stock led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 1.5 million shares, generating QAR 11.1 million in liquidity.
