QSE slides 42.53 pts at Sunday close on blue chips

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday in the red zone after falling 0.45% or 42.53 points, reaching 9,499.75 points.

The banks sector shed 0.85% as Qatar National Bank (QNB), Masraf Al Rayan, and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) dropped 1.27%, 0.95%, and 0.62%, respectively, whereas Islamic Holding Group rose 3.31%.

The real estate sector lost 0.67% as Ezdan Holding Group declined 0.78%.

On the other hand, the telecoms sector increased 0.49% as Ooredoo levelled up 1.04%.

Trading volume fell to 7.31 million shares on Sunday against 11.46 million shares on Thursday, while liquidity tumbled to QAR 194.6 million from QAR 283.10 million.

Gulf International Services’ stock went up 1.18%, after 2.3 million shares were exchanged, at a turnover of QAR 54.2 million.

Earlier on Sunday, the QSE’s main index grew 0.18% or 17.60 points, reaching 9,559.88 points.
