QSE slides 42.35 pts in Tuesday’s close

Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday 0.45% or 42.35 points lower to reach 9,393.73 points.

The real estate sector lost 1.02% as Ezdan Holding Group and Barwa decreased 1.55% and 0.59%, respectively.

The telecoms sector shed 0.50% after Ooredoo went down 0.86%, while the banks sector dropped 0.29% as Al Khalij Commercial Bank declined 1.79%.

On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector increased 0.24% after Al Meera Consumer Goods Company rose 1.78%.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution’s stock led losers as it retreated 6.38%, whereas Mazaya Qatar for Real Estate Development's stock was the best performer with 3.40%.

Trading volume stood at 5.8 million shares on Tuesday against 7.4 million shares on Monday, while liquidity slid to QAR 144.6 million from QAR 1.4 billion.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, up 1.28%, led in terms of traded volume with 1.86 million shares exchanged, while Al Meera’s stock was the best performer in trading value with a turnover of QAR 16.84 million.

Earlier on Tuesday, the QSE’s main index tumbled 0.21% or 19.71 points reaching 9,416.37 points.
