QSE rises on real estate, banks stocks Sunday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a bullish performance on Sunday, spurred by the rise of most sectors led by the real estate and banks.

The general index increased 1.33% or 133.95 points to reach 10,187.90 points, its highest level since early November.

Turnover stood at QAR 334.433 million on Sunday, compared to QAR 378.87 million last Thursday. Trading volume reached 10.08 million shares, compared to 11.07 million shares.

The insurance sector was the best performer after gaining 2.44% as Qatar Islamic Insurance grew 9.88%.

The real estate sector rose 1.61% as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development, Barwa Real Estate and Ezdan Holding Group went up 5.30%, 2.55% and 1.62% respectively. The banks sector also gained 1.19% after Qatar National Bank (QNB) grew 7.15%.

Ooredoo was the value leader after generating 36.25 million, while Mazaya Qatar was the most active stock after trading 1.41 million shares.
