QSE rises 119.17 pts at Thursday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday in the green zone, adding 1.19% or 119.17 points to reach 10,110.84 points.

All of the sectors rose, led by the real estate sector with 1.96% as Barwa Real Estate, Ezdan Holding Group, and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development grew 2.30%, 2.19%, and 0.41%, respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector gained 1.28%, while the banks sector also went up 1.28% as Doha Bank increased 2.58%, followed by Qatar National Bank (QNB) with 1.72%, Qatar Oman Investment Company with 1.19%, and Masraf Al Rayan with 1.18%.

The industrials sector levelled up 0.81% as Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding, Industries Qatar, and Qatari Investors Group went up 1.75%, 1.65%, and 1.22%, respectively.

The transportation sector grew 0.65%, while the insurance sector increased 1.01%.

Qatari General Insurance and Reinsurance Company led risers with 6.97%, whereas Medicare Group was the worst performer with 1.12%.

Traded volume rose to 11.96 million shares on Thursday against 7.28 million shares on Wednesday, as liquidity increased to QAR 327.32 million against QAR 182.02 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 5.4 million shares exchanged at QAR 49.5 million.

Earlier on Thursday, the benchmark index went up 0.1% to reach 10,001.96 points.
