QSE rises 114 pts at Thursday's close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index rose 114 points, or 1.13%, to close at 10,191.5 points on Thursday.

The industrials sector topped gainers and added 2%, followed by the banking and financial services sector which levelled up 1.7%.

On the other hand, the telecommunications and insurance sectors declined 0.03% and 0.82%, respectively.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding led risers after soaring 7.06%, while Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance headed fallers with 4.4%.

The QSE’s liquidity climbed 12.6% to QAR 432.44 million on Thursday, against QAR 384.22 million in the previous session, whereas trading volume jumped 62.8% to 14.46 million shares, compared to 8.88 million on Wednesday.

Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock, upped 1.8%, spearheaded the QSE in terms of turnover after generating QAR 90.6 million in liquidity, while Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock registered the highest trading volume with 4.11 million shares at a turnover of QAR 70.33 million.
