QSE returns to red, loses 81.49 points

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s main index ended Monday’s trading in red after declining by 0.78% or about 81.49 points to 10,418.47 points.

Al Rayan Islamic Index also slipped 1.16% to 3,853.47 points, and the All Shares Index plummeted 0.71% to 2,775.58 points.

Trading volume closed at about 5.04 million shares exchanged in 3,269 trades, making a trading value of around QAR 253.3 million.

In his statement to Mubasher, financial analyst Ayoub Eshban said that support levels ranged today between 10,350 and 10,400 points, while the resistance levels were 10,450, 10,550 and 10,600 points.

QSE sectors’ performance was mixed, topped by insurance with a growth of 0.24%, while the real estate was at the bottom with a fall of .321%.

Out of 40 shares traded, 11 shares closed up, 26 others moved down, and the remaining three steadied.

Gulf Warehousing Company was the best performer after advancing 3%, while Widam Food was the lowest stock with a 5.32% decrease.

Al Rayan Bank made the biggest trading volume with about 952,900 shares traded, while Qatar National Bank made the highest trading value with turnover of more than QAR 36 million.  

The Qatari benchmark index closed Sunday with a rise of 0.20% or about 20.68 points, reaching the level of 10,499.96 points.
