QSE opens Thursday in decline; telecom, banks down

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading session 0.48% or 42.10 points lower at 8,910.47 points.

By 10 am Doha time, the trading value amounted to QAR 13.2 million after 527,000 shares were exchanged through 338 transactions.

Telecom companies led the decliners with 2.35% in line with the 3.32% fall of Ooredoo.

The banking segment went down 0.66%, dragged by Qatar National Bank (QNB) which lost 1.07%.

Meanwhile, the goods sector topped four gainers with 0.48%.

Real estate companies added 0.41% in line with the 0.92% rise of Ezdan.

Qatar First Bank was the most active stock on which about 218,030 shares were traded. The stock reached QAR 5.71.

Ooredoo posted the highest turnover of QAR 3.26 million.
