QSE falls in week amid lower liquidity

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 2.37% or 253.992 points to reach 10,467.23 points in the week which ended on 9 March, compared to 10,721.15 points in the week which ended on 2 March.

The market’s turnover shrank by 22.99% to total QAR 1.83 billion this week from QAR 2.38 billion in the past week. Similarly, trading volume decreased by 16.97% to 50.953 million shares from 61.37 million shares.

The market cap lost 2.37% or QAR 13.69 billion to stand at QAR 563.52 billion from QAR 577.21 billion in the prior week.

Doha bank dropped 15.90% to be the top loser during the week, while Medicare was the top winner with a 13.71% gain.

QNB was the most active stock with a share accounting for 9.68% of the market’s overall liquidity.
