QSE falls 36 pts at Thursday’s open

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading session in red territory, dragged by a massive drop of all sectors.

By 10:25 am Qatar time, the general index declined 0.37% to 9,556.51 points, losing 36.72 points.

The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 21.9 million after 1.1 million shares were exchanged through 818 transactions.

The goods and services sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.64% as Qatar Fuel (Woqod) went down 1.20%.

Similarly, the banking sector leveled down 0.17%, pressured by Islamic Holding Group’s 1.11% drop, while the industrial sector inched down 0.25% after Qatar Electricity and Water Company decreased 0.79%.

The heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s stock (QNB) led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 8.9 million, while Ezdan Holding Group’s stock headed the market in terms of trading volume with 359,400 shares.
