Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading in the green, supported by the growth of its three sectors.
By 09:45 am Qatar time, the general index grew 0.66% to 8,975.99 points, adding 60.17 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 64.96 million after 811,650 shares were traded through 564 transactions.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 0.99% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) went up 1.32%. Similarly, the industrial sector levelled up 0.47% due to Qatar Electricity and Water Company’s 1.22% increase.
On the negative side, the insurance sector headed the bourse’s losers, falling 0.29% as Al Khaleej Takaful and Qatar Insurance declined 6.16% and 0.29%, respectively.
The real estate sector retreated 0.17% on the back of Barwa Real Estate’s 0.74% drop.
QNB’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 315,600 shares, generating QAR 50.9 million in liquidity.
