Doha-Mubasher: Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC) started works at the power and water project “Umm Al Haul” in Qatar, according to a filing to Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).
Umm Al Haul is one of the largest projects in the region with a capacity of 2,520 megawatts of electricity and 136 million gallons of desalinated water per day, according to QEWC general manager Fahad Hamad Al Mohannadi.
The company will lay the foundation stone of the QAR 10 billion project in October, the GM added in a statement published Tuesday.
