Public, private sectors integration supports future of Bahrain’s digital finance – National Economy Minister

Manama – Mubasher: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, emphasized the importance of enhancing trust, innovation, and integrity in shaping the future of digital finance and financial services in Bahrain and the region.

During the fourth edition of Fintech Forward in Bahrain, the minister pointed out that rapid technological developments necessitate strengthening integration among various components of the financial ecosystem.

He further added that Bahrain does not draw a line between the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and integration between the two sides in supporting innovation and developing financial services.

Shaikh Al Khalifa added that AI does not represent a separate trend or a new phenomenon, but has become an interconnected part of daily life and the technology ecosystem, including the fintech sector.

He also highlighted the importance of leveraging AI applications and modern technologies in developing the financial sector, and working on employing them in a way that adds new competitive advantages to the currency and the financial system.

The forum's program includes several key topics related to the future of financial services, foremost among them artificial intelligence, payments, stablecoins, asset tokenization, open banking, and digital identity, along with fraud prevention and regulatory innovation.

The two-day event program also discusses the financing of small and medium enterprises, digital wealth management, and insurance technology, in addition to investment opportunities, cooperation, and building partnerships between financial and technological institutions, investors, and decision-makers.

Roughly 20 entities from the financial services, fintech, technology, and government sectors are participating in the forum, showcasing their latest solutions and services alongside the specialized sessions and events.
