Port Said collects EGP 2.9bn customs, taxes in January

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 2.938 billion in customs duties, taxes, and charges at Port Said Customs during January.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Port Said reached EGP 436.419 million during January, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

Additionally, the value-added taxes (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods stood at EGP 2.503 billion during the month, the statement showed.

The imported goods included wheat, legumes, maize, and production requirements.

Moreover, the port exported goods that included food, fruits, juices, and raw materials at a total value of EGP 709.49 million. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 4.488 million.
