Riyadh — Mubasher: Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) announced the resignation of its President and CEO, Othman bin Ali Al Ghamdi, as of 31 August 2026.
Al Ghamdi stepped down due to personal circumstances but will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors, according to a bourse disclosure.
The board of directors accepted Al Ghamdi’s resignation on 23 August 2026.
Petro Rabigh, meanwhile, appointed Hassan bin Hamad Al Yami to succeed Al Ghamdi as President and CEO, with his tenure officially beginning on 1 September 2026.
The appointment decision was finalized during a board meeting held on 23 August as well.
Al Yami brings more than 30 years of leadership experience within the refining and petrochemical industry to the role. He previously served as a Vice President at Saudi Aramco for the Ras Tanura Refinery and held various executive positions at several Saudi Aramco subsidiaries both within the Kingdom and internationally.
Moreover, the new CEO’s career includes overseeing global operations, major capital projects, and corporate transformation initiatives.
The outgoing CEO, Al Ghamdi, was recognized by the board for his leadership during significant transitional periods in the history of the company.
