Cairo – Mubasher: The net profits attributable to the owners of Orascom Construction Plc decreased by 4.4% to $23.9 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021 from $25 million in the year-ago period, according to the company's interim consolidated financials for the three-month period ended 31 March 2021.
The company generated revenues of $816.6 million in Q1-21, down 1.3% from $827.6 million in Q1-20.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) reached $51 million in the first three months of 2021, down 20.4% from $64.1 million in the corresponding period of 2020.
Meanwhile, the company's consolidated backlog maintained at $5.4 billion in the January-March period of 2021.
The basic earnings per share (EPS) settled at $0.20 in Q1-21, against $0.21 in Q1-20.
It is noteworthy to mention that in 2020, the company's net profits attributable to the owners declined to $90.9 million from $121.3 million in 2019.
