Mubasher: Oman’s trade surplus reached OMR 2.2 billion ($5.7 billion) in 2015, the Sultanate’s National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said on Saturday.
Merchandise exports declined in 2015 by 34.7% to OMR 13.35 billion ($35.7 billion) from OMR 20.4 billion ($53 billion).
Commodity imports also fell by 1% last year to OMR 11 billion ($28.57 billion) from OMR 11.2 billion ($29.09 billion) in 2014.
Oil and gas exports dropped 41.9% to OMR 7.8 billion (20.25 billion), and non-oil exports decreased 27.2% to OMR 3 billion ($7.8 billion).
