Riyadh - Mubasher: The total daily production of face masks produced by nine factories across Saudi Arabia amounts to two and a half million masks, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The production aims at meeting the needs of healthcare front liners and citizens in the face of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, said the spokesman of the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources Jarrah Aljarrah.
The industry ministry is working in collaboration with its government and private sector partners to enhance the quantities of masks in the local market while also building a strategic inventory sufficient for future utilisation even after the crisis ends, he explained.
This crisis has proven the excellent capabilities and competence of the kingdom’s industrial sector in dealing with the negative fallout from the pandemic and narrowing any negative impacts that could affect individuals or institutions, Aljarrah added.
