Nasr City Public Free Zone sees $3.5bn projects – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of investment and international cooperation and minister of local development have visited Nasr City Public Free Zone to review the recent development works.

Work procedures in all free zones are being automated to link the databases of the single project among several departments in the region and place tight control on projects in a bid to prevent any attempted smuggling, investment minister Sahar Nasr said in a statement on Sunday.

Automation complies with the highest international standards to facilitate procedures to investors by providing all services on the website of the ministry of investment and international cooperation.

Currently, Nasr City Public Free Zone comprises 211 projects with a total capital of $3.5 billion along with investments costs of $6.8 billion and foreign direct investment (FDI) of $442 million, in addition to creating about 72,500 jobs.
