Cairo – Mubasher: National Bank of Egypt (NBE) on Sunday announced that it has financed EGP 74 billion of syndicated loans in Africa during 2018, with a market share of 9.7%.
Egypt's largest state-owned lender was ranked the first as the best bank in the Egyptian banking market last year in terms of the syndicated loans, according to a statement.
Moreover, the bank came in the fifth spot after international institutions and banks in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in terms of the syndicated loans it arranged.
Sherif Riad, head of the NBE's credit group for corporate and syndicated loans, said that the bank has maintained its leading position for consecutive years in the Egyptian and the African markets in the field of syndicated loans, according to Bloomberg’s evaluation.
