Mubadala’s unit partners with Thales to offer aviation industrial services

UAE - Mubasher: Sanad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala) has reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with France’s Thales to cooperate in providing industrial services for air traffic, airport security, and avionics systems.

This agreement was signed following Sanad’s launch of a new industrial services strategy to diversify its business portfolio, according to a press release on Monday.

The two entities will exchange expertise and work together on multiple regional and international projects.

Under the MoU, Sanad will offer advanced industrial systems, while Thales will be responsible for design and building.

Sanad’s Group CEO, Mansoor Janahi, commented: "Through this new agreement, Sanad seeks to build national competencies and excellence in these sectors, localising the most advanced technologies and promoting the transfer of knowledge through partnerships with major international companies leading in these sectors."

The CEO of Thales in the UAE, Bernard Roux, said: "The aviation sector has fostered endless debates over the last few years, whether it is in relation to future traffic flows or the resilience and adaptability of the sector."
