MoF partners with Dubai SME to support SMEs, entrepreneurs

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai SME, a division of Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (Dubai Economy) to support entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UAE.

Under the agreement, both parties will encourage SME owners registered in Dubai SME to register in the Federal Supplier Register at MoF, according to a press release on Sunday.

This registration will enable the SMEs to participate in government tenders offered by federal entities and to contribute to the UAE’s sustainable development.

The Undersecretary of Financial Management Sector at MoF, Mariam Al Amiri, said that the Ministry seeks to cooperate with various federal and local entities and private sector companies to support SME owners and diversify the national economy.

Meanwhile, the Deputy CEO of Dubai SME, Saeed Matar Al Marri, commented: "At Dubai SME, we are committed to enhancing the capabilities of these enterprises and enabling them to be among the fundamental components in various sectors."
