Mercedes to supply Egypt with 2,510 ambulances worth EGP 3bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, held a meeting with the Vice-President and Global Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans, Klaus Rehkugler; Head of Region Overseas at Mercedes-Benz Vans, Lars Pauly; and Chairman of Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles Company (MCV), Karim Ghabbour, to explore the possible means of enhancing cooperation. 

The German auto manufacturer agreed to supply Egypt with 2,510 ambulances and mobile medical clinics at a cost of over EGP 3 billion as part of the national project for rural development and the presidential initiative of Haya Karima (A Decent Life), Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Khaled Megahed, said in a statement on Thursday. 

Under the agreement, 1,510 ambulances will be supplied starting from October till mid-2022 and 1,000 ambulances and mobile medical clinics will be supplied by the beginning of 2023.
