UAE - Mubasher: Masdar has won a tender to construct a 457-megawatt photovoltaic solar power plant in Uzbekistan, the Energy Ministry of Uzbekistan announced on Wednesday, as cited by Reuters.
Masdar has been awarded the project after offering the lowest bid of $0.018045/kWh on the Sherabad solar tender, leading four other competitors.
The solar power plant is located in the Sherabad district of Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya province.
The project is part of a programme to build solar plants with a total capacity of 1 gigawatt, backed by the Asian Development Bank.
