Doha – Mubasher: Mannai Corporation acquired 16.66 million shares in France’s Gfi Informatique Company for 8.5 euros per share, a filing with the Qatari exchange said.
The off-market transaction entitles Mannai to about 25% of the capital and voting rights of the French company, the Qatari firm announced on Sunday.
Qatar’s diversified business house bought the 25% stake in Gfi Informatique from Apax France (jointly with Altamir) and Boussard and Gavaudan on a fully diluted basis.
The acquisition deal was executed on 8 April, according to the bourse statement.
The trio had entered into shareholders and tender offer agreements under which they are acting in concert towards Gfi Informatique, the statement explained.
Mannai said this acquisition is its first step towards acquiring a majority stake of 51% in Gfi Informatique.
