UAE - Mubasher: A total of 88% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are optimistic about their growth in the next 12 months, as shown by the inaugural Mastercard Middle East and Africa (MEA) SME Confidence Index.
The UAE tops the inaugural Mastercard SME Confidence Index in the Middle East and North Africa, according to a press release on Sunday.
After facing unprecedented changes amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, two-thirds of SMEs are expecting that revenues would either grow or maintain their levels.
The rise in SME confidence in the UAE is driven by easier access to funding, acceptance of digital payments, and training and upskilling staff.
The Country Manager of UAE and Pakistan at Mastercard, Girish Nanda, said: "Starting a business is one of the most ambitious and rewarding things one can do, and it’s great to see that confidence is returning to the UAE’s SME sector after a challenging period."
