Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index went up by 0.51% or 28.74 points and closed at the level of 5,969.32 points.
Today, the main index increased on the back of a very positive performance by the majority of its blue chip stocks, led by Galfar Engineering which rose by 3%, followed by Al Sharqiya Investment Holding with 2.9% and Al Anwar Holdings which gained 2.72% and registered the highest turnover at OMR 320,130.
As for the sectors performance, the financial sector added 0.76% as Bank Sohar and Bank Nizwa grew 1.88% and 1.23% respectively.
The sector also saw HSBC Oman record the biggest traded volumes with 2.77 million shares, and the Financial Corporation leading the session decliners and dropping 9.73%.
Similarly, the industrial sector added 0.56%, as Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Oman Cement gained 2.38% and 1.73% respectively.
Meanwhile, the services sector levelled up 0.14% as Al Jazeira Services led the today’s gainers and surged 3.14%, while Renaissance Services increased by 2.1%.
Total traded volumes declined today to 14.17 million shares from 19.45 million shares on last session, and total traded values also registered OMR 2.61 million down from nearly OMR 5 million on Thursday.
